Aaron Ramsey: Wales midfielder does not want early Arsenal exit

Aaron Ramsey says he wants to stay at Arsenal until the end of the season despite having a new four-year contract offer withdrawn by the club.

The Wales midfielder's current deal expires next summer, when he could leave for free.

And though the breakdown in talks has raised the prospect of a move in January - with Liverpool and Juventus among those linked - Ramsey says he may keep till the tip of this term.

"Of course, yeah," he said.

"I am contracted to Arsenal and I am going to do my best now this season to try and achieve something special."

As things stand, Ramsey can have the choice of signing a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club from one January.

The 27-year-old joined Arsenal in 2008 during a £4.8m move from town club Cardiff City.

He is Arsenal's longest-serving player and scored the winning goals within the 2014 and 2017 FA Cup finals.

Asked if he was disappointed by the club's call to withdraw the offer, Ramsey was diplomatic.

"That's a decision that they have made, things happen in football and you just have to get on with it and carry on playing the best you can," he said.

"That's all i'm concentrating on and giving my best for Arsenal.

"Everything has been going nice with the club. we tend to thought we tend to we tend tore during a position wherever we had in agreement a deal however that is not the case.

"So I simply ought to continue enjoying my soccer and do my best for Arsenal this season and i will leave the remainder with with the club now."
