David Luiz signs Chelsea contract extension

Chelsea announced the renewal of the contract of Brazilian defender David Luiz, until 2021, through the official website of the club London.

"I am very happy to continue here, I love this club and I still have the ambition of a young player," said Luiz after the extension of his contract.

"To reach the Europa League final means a lot to me, and we still have a chance to finish the league in third place, I will continue to do my best to help the team."

"We are delighted that David Luiz remains with the club, he has been a role model for the past few years and his influence on and off the pitch has been noticed by everyone," said Chelsea manager Marina Granovskaya.

David Luiz had 246 appearances during his career with Chelsea, scoring 18 goals.
