Real Madrid have kickstarted Carlo Ancelotti's second spell in charge by tying down Lucas Vazquez with a new contract until 2024.
The extension was officially announced on Thursday afternoon after days of speculation and the versatile Vazquez is set to play a role in Madrid's quest for silverware next season.
However, the news comes as a blow to both Manchester United and Chelsea, who reportedly showed interest in snapping up the 29-year-old.
Vazquez seemed ready to leave the club last winter as Real Madrid didn’t want to give him the deal he wanted, but now both parts reached an agreement and signed this three-year extension.
